A Little Love For Candles By Victoria! My Top 10 Scents and Contest Info!

Hello Blogger World!

So of course I am about a month late, I know I said I was going to post but my sister was her visiting from Korea for about 3 weeks so things got a little hectic. She is teaching English in South Korea and has been there since February of last year so it had been almost a full year since we'd seen her. So we tried to spend as much time together as possible before she had to leave again for another full year!

So anyways, I just wanted to come on today and give a little love to my favorite candle company, Candles By Victoria. If you don't know about Candles By Victoria, well you need to go HERE right now!! Basically, it is an amazing candle company out of Van, Texas run by an amazing amazing woman named Victoria and her family. Victoria has been making candles since 1999, so clearly she knows what she's doing! Her candles are the most amazingly scented, strong throwing, creamy candles I've ever tried.

So since I haven't made an order recently to review for you all on here, I just wanted to talk a bit about my Top 10 Scents! And stay tuned 'til the end for info about an awesome contest Victoria is doing right now and some important sale info! :)

My Top Ten CBV Scents (In no particular order):

1. Bath Time With Pooh- Okay, this one IS in order. This is my all time favorite scent from Victoria, and is one of her most well loved scents in her entire line. When I smell this I feel like I am swimming in a golden pool of deliciousness. It is a dupe of a well known product from a certain "luxurious" bath company, but I actually had never smelled that product before ordering this scent. I got this as a scent shot in my very first order (which was in July of 2010) and I remember liking it, but not loving it. But boy oh boy, does this one grow on you. The more you smell it, the more addicting it is, it's a sweet, creamy, clean scent that reminds me of clean babies. Now, don't let the baby part scare you, it doesn't smell like you're snorting baby powder or anything but the way the sweet honey and toffee scent mixes with the clean, soapy scent just brings clean babies to my mind :) It is very soft and relaxing, my number one scent!! :)

2. Sweet Pea- This is quite a well known scent from another well known bath and body product company. I wore this scent as a body spray all throughout middle school and high school, and it kinda of came to be known as my "signature scent". Victoria's version is just as amazing and I love being able to have my room smell like it. It is a very sweet floral, but it's not an overwhelming "headache-y" floral in my opinion. Nor is it to heavy on that kind of "pollen" scent that some florals seem to have. It's just amazing, and even if you're not too fond of florals but you're trying to dip your toe into the floral section you should give this one a try, great girly bedroom scent!

3. Sexy In Stilettos- Oh my good gravy train, this one is simply fantastic. This is another well loved scent on the Pouring Pot Message Board and the CBV Browser. This is one of Victoria's "House Blends" which means she created this combination herself and it is completely unique to her line, it also mean that it may have the slightest variations between each batch, which I think is kind of cool :) It smells like a very pretty, sexy woman's perfume. Someone on the message board, forgive I cannot for the life of me remember who, described it as how a pretty woman's bedroom would smell, with all her lotions and perfumes combining into one beautiful scent and I think that is a great description. I personally pick up notes of Love Spell, Pink Sugar, maybe a bit of Pure Seduction and something else I just can't quite put my finger on. Although it's a perfumey smell, it's not an overpowering perfume smell, it's just perfect. Another great one for the bedroom!

4. Mango Papaya- Mmm! This one smells like something I want to stick a straw into and drink! It's like a delicious fruit smoothie. I love the smell of mangoes, and while I'm not sure I know what papayas smell like, I think I like them too :) This is super juicy and reminds me of summer! Not much else to say about it!

5. Pumpkin Pear Strudel- Ta dah! The only bakery scent on my Top 10 (although Brown Sugar Shortbread only missed the list by just a tiny bit)! Pumpkin Pear Strudel is one that I feel just doesn't get enough love on the message boards, I smell juicy tart pears with sweet creamy pumpkin and just a tiny hint of spice. It is such a great scent for Fall, but I burn it year round! One of my favorite things about this scent is how, every time I burn it, my step dad walks in the room and talks about how great it smells, and he never talks about any other candles, except for maybe asking to turn them off! I think this one would be great for both people who are avid bakery lovers, and also for people like me who are not bakery's biggest fans. Love it!

6. Twilight Woods- Another dupe for a bath and body product. This scent is so complex, I don't even know how to describe it. It smells very deep to me and has many complex notes. I definitely pick up some dark fruits and florals but there is also a very slight woodsy note and some soft musk. It also comes in a gorgeous deep purple color that I love!

7. Sweet Snow- Sweet peppermint and vanilla. That's it. So simple, but so so awesome. It sounds kinda blah or boring but it is anything but! It is a very strong scent that just reminds me of all things winter. I prefer this type of scent to the heavy cinnamon scents that are common in Christmas scents, so this is one of my top scents for Christmas time.

8. DKNY Delicious- If you haven't been able to tell already, I tend to love lots of sweet, floral, fruity, girly scents. This one is an amazing one. Many of you are probably familiar with the DKNY Be Delicious perfume, and this is an exact dupe. It smells of tart green apples and sweet florals. This one is so reminiscent of Spring to me. It smells like walking through a park in Spring when all the trees are blossoming, so awesome!

9. Tiffany-D- Yet another one of Victoria's more well loved scents and another House Blend. I ordered a full 8oz candle in this scent without ever smelling it before, and I am so glad that I did. It smells like honeydew melon with sweet cotton candy, it sounds like a very odd combination but it is soooo yummy and girly and great!

10. Bella Swan- Last but certainly not least, this is another fruity floral that is sweet and girly! Victoria and her daughter Chelsea created this scent and two other Twilight characters based on their descriptions from the books. This scent is said to smell like a sweet floral with a warm vanilla. A lot people (myself included) say tat they can smell grape in this scent even though Victoria swears that there is no grape anywhere in this scent! Whether or not there is grape in it, I love this scent. It is very girly and pretty!

So there you have my Top 10 CBV Scents! I had a hard time narrowing it down to just 10 as there are many more scents that I absolutely love, but they will have to be discussed another day! :)

Happy New Year!

It's a new year! :) Happy 2012!

Still no followers. Not surprising.

Anyways, it's extremely late and I need to go to bed but I just wanted to make a quick post to say to all my nonexistent followers that I have some fun posts coming :)

I will be blogging about a company called Chocomize and I also have some DIY Christmas Ornaments to talk about. Very exciting stuff lol.

I'm also going to try to do some personal blogging just about me and my life. Probably about my cats. And my boyfriend. And my search for a job... again. Again, all very exciting... ;)

Well anyways, as you may be able to tell by my poor grammar and usage of punctuation, it's late and I need sleep.

Good night, Moon!

Welcome!

Hey all! (Aka nobody seeing as this is my first post and I have zero followers) Welcome to my blog :) I've been considering making a blog for awhile now but just haven't done it, mostly because I feel like my life isn't very interesting and I would just bore any potential followers to tears. But I just decided to go ahead and make one anyway.

So this blog will pretty much be "anything and everything" that I feel compelled to write about. Probably lots of rambling, some product *coughCBVcough* reviews, and hopefully even some of my adventures in crafting and baking! :)

A little about me, I am a 20 year old student from Colorado. Still living at home, recently laid off, and trying to work my way to my Bachelor's degree. I love Harry Potter, candles, little kids, and stuffed animals :) I hope you enjoy my blog!
